Q: I FALL AT OR BELOW THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES TO RECEIVE CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE, HOW DO I APPLY? |
A: No appointment is necessary to apply. Follow these instructions:
1. You must first determine “whom” you want to provide child care services for your child(ren). There are several options to choose from Click Here to view the State-Funded Child Care Options. You may choose to have your child(ren) enrolled into a Day Care Center, an In-Home Child Care Provider or a Limited Child Care Provider (such as a relative or friend).

2. Once this is determined, you must complete the Application for Child Care Benefits. Please also read, complete and adhere to the Child Care Assistance Information which will provide the details of the application process and help answer any questions you may have.
3. Next, print the Child Care Employement Verification and complete the top section only. Take this form to your employer and ask them to complete the bottom portion. They may return it to you or they may fax or mail it back to our office.
4. Print, read and sign Your Rights and Responsibilites This will need returned with your application.
5. Once you have completed all the necessary paperwork, you may drop it off or mail it to the Coshocton County DJFS. All applications must be reviewed and processed within 30 days of being received. Our Contact Page will provide you with our mailing address and phone. |

Q: I AM INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN IN-HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDER – HOW CAN I APPLY? |
A: You may either make application to become a Type “B” Professional or Limited provider. You must become certified through the Department of Job and Family Services.
A Type-B Professional allows you to care for multiple children/families in your home (UP TO 6 CHILDREN)
A Type-B Limited allows you to care for only 1 family (ex: You want to provide care for your grandchild(ren), nephew/niece or friend’s child(ren).

A: You are required to have CPR and First Aid Training before becoming a provider. A complete list of all other requirements are available for Type-B Professional and Type-B Limited Providers through the links provided in Question #3 above. |

Q: I OWN/OPERATE A DAY CARE CENTER AND AM INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CERTIFIED PROVIDER – HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION? |

Q: I HAVE MADE APPLICATION FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE BUT HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED APPROVAL. WILL I GET REIMBURSED FOR ANY CHILD CARE EXPENSES IF I AM APPROVED? |
A: No. A child care provider cannot be paid for services until their application is approved nor will the agency reimburse the applicant for day care expenses already paid. |
