Coshocton County Job and Family Services

August is National Child Support Awareness Month

Special Thanks...... Special Thanks....

The staff of the Coshocton County DJFS –Child Support Division wish to thank our community partners for their involvement in helping ensure parents and children receive the financial support needed to achieve a healthy lifestyle .

Many families rely on child support as an important resource to provide the needs of their children.  Without the hard work and commitment from these partners, some children would do without these essential needs.

  • Coshocton County Common Pleas Court Staff
  • Coshocton County Juvenile Court Staff
  • Coshocon County Sheriff's Department
  • Coshocton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office
  • Family PACT Center
  • And Most importantly, local businesses who work with the CSEA to implement wage witholdings and medical insurance orders, and see to it that child support deductions are sent timely

The CSEA Staff also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to those parents ordered to pay support who take the responsibility to ensure that payments are made to their children timely, and more importantly, those parents who provide their children with the love and emotional support necessary to succeed in life.

Outreach Efforts....

Attention Kids....

Each August during Child Support Awareness Month, Child Support staff provide enhanced outreach efforts to parents ordered to pay support but have found it difficult to do so for numerous reasons.  Perhaps their order is unreasonable, perhaps they have been unsuccessful in finding/maintaining employment or other reasons beyond their control have prevented them from paying.  Our goal is to work with these parents to identify their individual reasons and work on a plan that will get them back on track.  Often times, we find that some parents are unwilling to pay support due to a lack of visitation time or simply a lack of communication with the other parent.  In these situations, we will offer assistance through the Family PACT (parents acting cooperatively together) Center to arrange mediation between the parents, supervised visitation or a neutral point to drop off/pick up children.  Our goal is to encourage the parental responsibility from both parents and encourage open, on-going communication that will benefit what is most important, the children.

For more information on Coshocton County’s Outreach efforts, please contact us at 740-295-7554.

Beginning August 1, 2008 the Child Support Division will be giving gift certificates for FREE Ice Cream/Slushies to the first 50 children (under the age of 12).  Please come to the 2nd Floor – Child Support Reception Window.
